Founders Note

In 2006, when I married Atul, I found my way into a small Himalayan village called Chikkhad in Theog, Himachal Pradesh. What began as weekend visits to his childhood home soon became a journey of belonging. Our boys, Arjun and Aaditya, along with our furries, Alaska and Autumn, have grown up chasing trails, plucking fruit from orchards, and sharing simple farm-to-table meals under the open skies.

Each trip back to Gurugram, we carried not just memories but baskets of the mountains’ love: ghee, apples, peaches, barfi, gal-gal achaar, and fresh vegetables wrapped in warmth. Soon, friends and family began asking us to bring “just one more jar” until our shelves overflowed with the flavours of the hills. That was the seed of Bichu Buti.
In 2024, I left behind a thriving corporate career to nurture this seed fully. Bichu Buti was born to bring the wild, pure essence of the Himalayas into homes like yours, to let you taste what I taste, and to carry a little of the mountains’ vitality into your every day.

Every ingredient is sourced with care from local communities who know the land best. Every jar carries not just flavour but the heartbeat of the Himalayas, untamed, pure, and enduring. Today, as we build our home in the orchards we call Deodar, my journey with Bichu Buti feels like it has come full circle, a way of sharing the joy of the mountains one jar at a time.
